Wanting a Tail Bag that is a little different and one-of-a-kind? Then look no further!

Our newest product are pre-made 'Scraptastic tail bags!' each one totally unique, created with weatherproof materials, fully lined and designed to stay securely in place. And ready to post out on our runs!

It is highly recommended to plait the tail and determine the measurements in cm's across and down to decide if any of these pre-made tail bags will be suitable for your use.

Our SLIM WIDTH Tail Bags at approx. 9.5cm across is surprisingly still generous and a great width for most tails. While our STANDARD WIDTH of 12.5cm, has been our best-selling option for a really thick full tail. For the even fuller tails, for our Gypsy Cobs and Clydesdales etc. our WIDE WIDTH option at 16.5cm and EXTRA WIDE option at 19cm are usually ample.

Please note that handmade items may have slight variations in size and appearance.

1. Section a clean washed, conditioned and semi dry tail into three.

2. Starting from under the base of the dock, loosely plait down to begin with for a few plaits (so not so tight for horses comfort, and ability to thread over tab through) and increase tightness to the end of tail.

3. With preferred elastic band, secure end of plait tightly.

4. Place tail into bag until top of bag is in line with end of dock.

5. Thread back over tab hook and loop through the ’loose’ plait from the back as high and close to the dock and secure to front tab.

6. Close the small security tab over the front over tab (if bag has one)

7. Secure the wraparound hook and loop either over (for more security) or under the front tab trimming excess if needed.

TAIL CARE: For best results check and add detangler/smoothing serum etc and re-plait/bag or wash and condition tail and re-plait/bag every 2 to 3 weeks.

WASHING: Warm hand wash with mild detergent is preferable for the longevity of the water resistant coating of the material.

WARNING: This style of tail bag is NOT designed to be worn OVER the dock and the material can be noisy, so care needs to be taken with introducing these first to see how your horse reacts with wearing them.
