Horse Tail Bag - BASIC STYLE

The newest addition to our rug less horse tail bag collection, the 'Basic' version. While it may sound simple, this bag is anything but! 

With features such as an inner French seam, square bottom, and a slimmer over tab with wraparound hook and loop, all made from our high-quality ripstop material, this is the perfect entry-level bag for anyone looking to try our tail saver bags. Our bags are designed for convenience and durability, using only the strongest cotton with UV protection to withstand any weather conditions. The Funky Feathers print even has an extra layer of waterproof protection! If you need a specific length, simply add a note at checkout and we will customize it for you. Please keep in mind that our bags are handmade and may take 2-4 days to create, but we will keep you updated on the progress if any longer than that.

This basic tail bag is approximately 11.5cm or 4 1/2 inches wide and is suitable for most horses.

Note: Handmade items may have 1-2cm variances and slight imperfections.

1. Section a clean washed, conditioned and semi dry tail into three.

2. Starting from under the base of the dock, loosely plait down to begin with for a few plaits (so not so tight for horses comfort, and ability to thread over tab through) and increase tightness to the end of tail.

3. With preferred elastic band, secure end of plait tightly.

4. Place tail into bag until top of bag is in line with end of dock.

5. Thread back over tab hook and loop through the ’loose’ plait from the back as high and close to the dock and secure to front tab.

6. Close the small security tab over the front over tab (if bag has one)

7. Secure the wraparound hook and loop either over (for more security) or under the front tab trimming excess if needed.

TAIL CARE: For best results check and add detangler/smoothing serum etc and re-plait/bag or wash and condition tail and re-plait/bag every 2 to 3 weeks.

WASHING: Warm hand wash with mild detergent is preferable for the longevity of the water resistant coating of the material.

WARNING: This style of tail bag is NOT designed to be worn OVER the dock and the material can be noisy, so care needs to be taken with introducing these first to see how your horse reacts with wearing them.
